Hitachi Vantara Brings Entry Level Storage to India

Hitachi Ltd's subsidiary Hitachi Vantara unveils its entry-level storage system, Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform G130, for the Indian market. The VSP G130 is an extension of the hybrid-flash VSP G series system. The storage system offers agile data infrastructure at a reduced price for the SMBs, remote or branch offices that require local backup capabilities, direct-attached storage (DAS) environments and simplified virtual server deployments.

The businesses require a storage solution that merge the workloads with minimal investments, provide value, and extract business insights. With enterprise-grade reliability and operational simplicity, supporting the current and future cloud strategies is critical for storage solutions. But, VSP G130 would efficiently address all these challenges for customers with smaller deployment needs.

VSP G130 provides seamless automation of data centers and enhances operational efficiency. The storage system is powered by the next generation Hitachi Storage Virtualization Operating System, SVOS RF. VSP G130 could reduce the cost and complexity while offering better network utilization. Alongside, it offers end-to-end analytics for advanced administrative efficiencies that make operation more predictable.

VSP G130 supports OpenStack drivers to deliver a cloud-like experience to users. Also, the storage solution supports containers to accelerate cloud-native application development through DevOps, enabling persistent data availability.

“Hitachi Vantara is dedicated to delivering innovative technologies that help business leaders in India manage the deluge of data being produced in their IT environments,” says Pratyush Khare, Vice President, Pre-Sales and CTO, APAC, Hitachi Vantara.

“Data center modernization begins with a foundation for consistent delivery of data at high speed and low latency, with support of diverse workload requirements and multi-cloud integration. VSP G130 is designed and priced to fulfil all these needs in the entry-level storage market,” he adds.
