Google Officially Rolls Out Android 5.1 Lollipop To Compatible Devices
BENGALURU: Google has recently announced an update to Android 5.0. The new version, 5.1, will have enhanced experience for Smartphones with multiple SIM cards. Several other features that are bundled with the update are device protection and high-definition (HD) voice on compatible phones.
Google has claimed on its official Android Blog that the new Android 5.1 will allow better sharing of Smartphone with family members and improved management of mobile costs.
High definition voice feature is limited to only T-Mobile and Verizon mobile service providers. Another constraint, the usage of HD voice calling, is that the sender’s as well as receiver’s phone should be HD voice enabled.
Google has always tried to provide seamless connectivity across different mobile platforms and this could be seen in its new 5.1 update, which will feature advance shortcut for controlling connected devices through Bluetooth directly from Quick Settings.
Another feature worth mentioning is the device protection. The device protection in Android 5.1 will allow the user to login their Google account to unlock their Smartphone. In case the phone is lost or stolen, it will remain locked even after applying factory settings.
