Finally, WhatsApp Voice Calling Now Available For Windows Phone

BANGALORE: Earlier this week, Windows Phone users received WhatsApp update for voice calling feature. This feature was first made available for Android, BlackBerry and iOS users a month ago, reports NDTV.

The WhatsApp update (version 2.12.60.0) for Windows Phone is available to download from the Windows Phone Store. This will make the WhatApp Calling feature available on Windows Phone 8 and above.

The voice calling facility is currently observed in all major Smartphone platforms such as Android, iOS, BlackBerry 10, and Windows Phone. Android users were the first to enjoy WhatApp voice calling feature in March followed by BlackBerry and iOS in April. The WhatApp development had announced that this feature for Windows Phone users was “still in the works” and did not reveal the exact release date of voice-calling feature on Windows phone.

According to WhatsApp's CEO and co-founder Jan Koum, WhatsApp is the most widely used instant messaging app and has over 800 million monthly active users.
