Hyderabad is set to host a cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) datacentre cluster as CtrlS Datacenters Limited, Asia’s leading data centre provider, announces a Rs 10,000 crore investment. The initiative follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Telangana government during the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.
The ambitious project will establish a 400 MW capacity datacentre cluster, creating 3,600 direct and indirect jobs while bolstering Telangana’s economy through increased tax revenues. Telangana’s Chief Minister’s Office described the collaboration as a testament to the state’s commitment to becoming a global hub for digital infrastructure and innovation.
“This partnership is a significant milestone in our mission to position Telangana as a leader in digital infrastructure and technology”, said D. Sridhar Babu, Telangana’s Minister for Information Technology and Industry. “The AI datacentre cluster will not only enhance IT capabilities but also create substantial employment, contributing to inclusive growth”,
Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary of Information and Commerce and IT Departments, emphasized Telangana’s proactive approach to fostering IT investments. “With investor-friendly policies such as the Data Center Policy and TG-iPASS framework, we are confident in the seamless execution of this landmark project”, he said.
Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Founder and CEO of CtrlS Datacenters Limited, highlighted the AI datacentre cluster’s focus on innovation, sustainability, and digital infrastructure, noting its potential to set new benchmarks in the sector.
Meanwhile, Telangana’s tech and mobility ecosystem received a further boost with Uber’s plans to expand operations in the state. Following discussions at the WEF, Minister Sridhar Babu revealed that Uber intends to scale operations, launch Uber Green and Uber Shuttle services, and create thousands of jobs.
“Hyderabad’s status as a tech and mobility hub makes it the perfect partner for Uber’s innovations”, he said. “Together, we’re shaping a smarter, greener transportation ecosystem”.
This twin development underscores Telangana’s position as a preferred destination for investments in digital and mobility technologies.
