ChatGPT Go Debuts in India with Affordable AI Access at 399 Rupees Per Month
  • OpenAI launches ChatGPT Go, a new India exclusive subscription plan at Rs 399/month, its most affordable offering yet.
  • The plan offers 10x more messages and image generation, plus faster responses compared to the free version.
  • Higher tier plans like ChatGPT Plus (Rs 1,999/month) and ChatGPT Pro (Rs 19,900/month) provide expanded usage limits.

OpenAI has introduced a new budget friendly subscription plan called ChatGPT Go, designed exclusively for users in India. Priced at just Rs 399 per month, this plan marks the company's most affordable offering so far and is aimed at reaching India’s massive base of internet users who are looking for powerful AI tools at lower costs.

With ChatGPT Go, users get significantly more access compared to the free version, including up to ten times more messages, ten times more image generations, and faster response times. OpenAI said the plan is tailored to the needs of India’s price sensitive but tech savvy market, which is also its second largest user base globally, after the United States.

Higher subscription tiers are also available for users who require even more capabilities. ChatGPT Plus is available at Rs 1,999 per month, and ChatGPT Pro, designed for heavy users and professionals is priced at Rs 19,900 per month.

OpenAI’s move reflects a broader trend of global tech firms offering region specific pricing for India, recognizing the country’s growing digital appetite. Earlier this year, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman met with India’s IT minister to discuss plans for building a low cost AI ecosystem.
