The Government of India has launched 'Entity Locker', a cutting-edge digital platform to transform the management and verification of business and organizational documents. This state-of-the-art, cloud-based secure solution, developed by the National eGovernance Division (NeGD) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), is designed to simplify document storage, sharing, and verification for a wide range of entities, including MSMEs, startups, corporations, trusts, and societies.
Built on a robust technological framework, Entity Locker integrates with multiple government and regulatory systems, enabling real-time access and verification of documents. Key features include consent-based secure sharing, Aadhaar-authenticated role-based access, 10 GB of encrypted cloud storage, and legally valid digital signatures for authentication.
The platform aligns with India's Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) initiative and the Union Budget 2024–25 vision for improved digital governance and ease of doing business. Consolidating essential features, Entity Locker aims to reduce administrative overheads, minimize processing times, and enhance operational efficiency for businesses.
Seamlessly integrated with systems such as the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN), and the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), this Entity Locker brings to the desk of businesses instant access to relevant documents.
The platform facilitates a wide number of use cases, such as vendor verification in procurement portals, expedited applications for MSME loans, creating FSSAI compliance documents, and streamlined filings of corporate annual accounts. Its trackability of related document activities fosters accountability in the process of reducing operational bottlenecks.
Entity Locker aims to be game-changing for companies across India to simplify regulatory procedures and enable a faster decision-making platform.
