Asus Padfone Mini: A Smartphone Cum Tablet Launched At 15,999
BENGALURU: When it comes to innovation, sky is not the limit in the tech world and that’s what the Taiwanese tech firm, Asus, has showed us with the unveiling of its newest device, the PadFone mini. The reason why we use the word “innovation” out here is because of its unique feature that allows users to experience an Smartphone and a tablet with a single device. Likewise other device in the PadFone lineup, the PadFone mini, is also a two-in-one device that is devised as a Smartphone that can double as a tablet once it is docked onto the PadFone station.
Amazingly built, the PadFone Mini carries IPS+ 4-inch display, while the tablet holds a 7-inch display with HD resolution of 1280×720 pixels to ensure a seamless experience when switching between Smartphone and tablet modes. Powered by a dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded upto 64GB. In terms of camera, the device is equipped with primary 8MP Sony camera with backside-illumination and wide-aperture f/2.0 five-element lens with exclusive ASUS PixelMaster technology. It also houses a 2MP front snapper for your selfies.
In terms of connectivity aspects, the device gets 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, micro USB and dual SIM functionality. While the PadFone mini is used an Smartphone, it gets energized by means of a 1,170 mAh battery and when it is docked to the PadFone station, it makes use of a 2,100 mAh battery and even charges the phone when docked.
On the software front, the Asus hybrid device runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS that is outdated, but the firm has assured that the device will be receiving the Android 4.4 KitKat update in future. While the Asus PadFone mini has been launched officially, the Taiwanese tech firm has announced the launch of the PadFone mini PF400CG for the Indian market with a price tag of 15,999 and will be going on sale exclusively via Flipkart soon.
