Asteria Aerospace Enhances Indian Army Surveillance with AT-15 VTOL Drones
Asteria Aerospace, a drone technology company, has successfully delivered its largest-ever contract of AT-15 Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) drones to the Indian Army. This landmark achievement underscores the company’s dedication to the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative and its commitment to providing cutting-edge technology to meet the stringent demands of defence and homeland security, the company said in a statement.
Neel Mehta, Director and co-founder of Asteria Aerospace, said that this delivery of Asteria’s indigenously developed AT-15 surveillance drones to the Indian Ministry of Defence demonstrates our unwavering support to meet the evolving needs of our defence forces.
“These man-portable drones are equipped with advanced features like high-altitude performance, integrated day-and-night cameras, and precision artillery targeting capabilities. We are confident they will significantly enhance the Indian Army's surveillance capabilities”, Mehta added.
The AT-15 VTOL drone features a blended wing design for enhanced aerodynamics, ensuring efficient flight and stability in high winds at altitudes of up to 6,000 meters. Its vertical takeoff and landing capability allows deployment in tight spaces, making it well-suited for difficult terrains. With an impressive flight time of up to 120 minutes and a range of 20 kilometers, it provides extensive surveillance and reconnaissance over large areas.
Equipped with an integrated Electro-optical Infrared (EO-IR) payload, the AT-15 enables critical aerial intelligence gathering with high zoom capabilities for both day and night operations. Its composite material construction ensures the drone is robust, lightweight and easily portable.
Asteria Aerospace operates from its cutting-edge 28,000-square-foot facility in Bengaluru, which houses a DSIR-recognized R&D lab dedicated to developing future-ready products that meet the highest quality and compliance standards. The company also has a strategic presence in Gurugram to cater to its diverse clientele, including government and defense agencies. This milestone delivery underscores Asteria Aerospace's crucial role in enhancing India's defense capabilities through innovative and indigenous drone solutions.
