Apple's iPhone Aims to Create a Eudaimonic Society
EpiWatch: John Hopkins’ innovation, EpiWatch helps epilepsy sufferers to manage their condition by tracking seizures, prescribed medication use, drug side effects and other actuators. Apple Watch collects data from patients before, during and after their seizures through this app. Scientists use the data on physiological changes, altered responsiveness and other attributes of perennial seizures to formulate new epilepsy monitoring and management techniques. At the time of occurrence of a seizure warning, the user needs to activate the app by tapping an icon, so that it can start taping heart rate, movements and responsiveness in a specialized memory game, utilizing sensors like accelerometer, gyroscope and heart rate monitor. The epileptic registrants are also allowed to collate their individual reports with others.
