BENGALURU: Big companies like Apple and Google are trying to enter into the segment of online internet based television. Although, Google launched Chromebox, which allows us to watch online content but there is no proper means to watch televisions online without the need of a cable network. In order to tackle this problem, Apple has come forward and are in talks with various broadcasters like CBS and Fox, to provide affordable online television service, reports WSJ.

However, experts on the matter said that without NBC Universal channels, it may be difficult for Apple to launch its service. Apple, on the other hand, is looking confident with its plan to launch the new service. According to the sources, the company is aiming to make an announcement in June and finally launch the product in Q4 of 2015. The service will be available exclusively for products running Apple’s OS and these products include, iPhones and iPads.

Apple was trying to launch this service from last year as it was in talks with cable giant, Comcast. However, the deal did not work out as they believed Comcast was trying to expand its own business of set-top box. Recently Apple has signed up HBO as its exclusive digital launch partner and the company has no plans to stop its vision to launch online streaming television. According to the sources, Apple may launch the service with a cost of $30 to $40 monthly.
