Android 5.0 Lollipop Update for Samsung Galaxy S5 Soon?

BANGALORE: As we are inching closer towards the launch of Google’s much awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop, we’re starting to hear more devices are making it to the list to get the update and Samsung Galaxy S5 is one of them, reports James Geddes of Tech Times.

When Google unveiled its next major version of Android at Google I/O in June, the company showed of a slew of new products including Android L, its replacement for Android 4.4 KitKat. In addition, the company also showed off a number of new features including Android L’s Material Design that delivers massive changes to the look and feel of the Android operating system.

While we know the material design, some of the other changes include a new notification system with "heads up" notifications that can be displayed as banners, grouped by app, viewed on the lock screen as cards, and as action buttons. The other thing is that with this update the battery life will also be improved and also helps users to monitor battery consumption by apps.

It is said that Nexus devices aren’t the only ones getting Android 5.0 Lollipop though. And Several companies including HTC, LG, Motorola, and Sony have confirmed upcoming Android 5.0 Lollipop releases for their devices. While those releases are still weeks if not months away, Samsung, maker of popular devices like the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4, hasn’t revealed any official Android 5.0 Lollipop update release details for their devices. However, that hasn’t stopped information from leaking to the surface.
