Amazon Prime Service To Be Launched In India This Year


BANGALORE: Amazon, the well-known online store for selling books and gifts is booming and it has changed the face of retail, services and other things that make our economy work, reports First Post.

According to a report from Economic Times, the latest news is Amazon India is planning introduce its premium Amazon Prime service subscription this year.

One of the executives said in a report it is difficult to confirm by when the service would come to India and also about the Internet speed which is the main concern.

In Amazon U.S. a $99 per year membership is offered, which is around Rs 6,232 in today’s exchange rate. It offers users two-day standard shipping, access to movies and TV shows for free, access to Music and some exclusive video series.  Amazon’s Instant Videos can be played across a variety of devices, including Kindle, Android, iOS and even television sets.  

There are many favors as well, there is access to eBooks if you have a Kindle tab. There are also kid-friendly apps, books and video for a set monthly price, and Prime Members get some off on the pricing.

The most effective gain is the movie and television show access for Indian users.

So once the prime service is launched in India, the streaming options will remain limited to those who have high-speed Internet and that’s not always possible in India.

According to the ET report, Flipkart and others like Snapdeal the company’s e-commerce rival, came to India the Amazon Prime service will make competition tougher.
