Adobe Enhances Premiere Pro with Generative Extend AI for Seamless Edits

Adobe is updating Premiere Pro with the addition of some much-sought-after features that were under beta testing, specifically Generative Extend and Media Intelligence. These AI-driven features are intended to give creatives quicker and improved video editing outcomes. With these features, creators will be able to lengthen video in 4K and in vertical orientation as well as audio clips altering how they fill out gaps in footage.
In addition, Adobe After Effects also comes with enhanced performance and 3D tools, as well as Frame.io that provides new enhancements for storage, transcription (subtitle translation into 27 languages in a snap), and additional support for document types. These are the specifications of the update.
Generative Extend and Media Intelligence are now widely available within Premiere Pro, and further updates, like AI-driven caption translation, automatically producing multilingual captions, and Premiere Colour Management, are now also available.
The newest addition in After Effects brings High-Performance Preview Playback, accelerating the playback of entire compositions on any computer, making the workflow much more efficient. It also increases the roster of 3D tools, with such additions as Animated Environment Lights, allowing for faster and more realistic 3D compositing for enhanced visuals. With HDR Monitoring now enabling accurate playback and editing of high dynamic range content, brighter, more vivid motion design with increased visual impact is made possible.
Adobe has revealed that the Generative Extend feature is offered free of charge for a limited time. After this initial time frame, the users will have to utilize Firefly generative credits in order to use the tool. Based on a report published by The Verge, based on the level of Creative Cloud subscription, the users get a credit allowance on a monthly basis between 25 and 1,000. For others, a standalone Firefly credit plan is offered at a minimum of $10 per month, and 2,000 credits are included.
Adobe has yet to announce the number of credits that Generative Extend will cost per use, but the company said the pricing will be based on a variety of factors, including the format, resolution, and frame rate of the video.
