Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is one of the most discussed topics in IT and business circles now. It is considered the fastest-growing enterprise software category in 2019, according to Gartner. Besides, RPA experts claim that organizations must build a broader automation strategy to understand the power of process automation.

The RPA software helps to launch a bot to handle a repetitive process but it requires a comprehensive strategy when scaling is done. As the name suggests, RPA doesn’t involve robots for the process. RPA is very effective for automating tasks and sequences which execute the same way with varying. However, a workflow is usually recommended when the process involves collaboration, creativity, judgment, and manual decisions. Also, some of the automation platforms support harnessing RPA and workflow together to address challenges such as exception management and complex tasks, which span both cloud and on-premises environments.

It is said that intelligent automation refers to the pairing of process automation with more cognitive AI disciplines such as Machine Learning. The tech leaders will expand their initial RPA efforts with a union of rules-based and AI-powered automation by a fully integrated system.
