New Desktop Version Messenger App from WhatsApp!!

BENGALURU: If rumors are to be believed, Facebook owned WhatsApp is currently developing a standalone desktop application for Windows and Mac OS users. If it were true, then it will be received with open arms since most professionals who work in MNCs spend most of their time sitting in front of their desktops.

Fuelling this rumor, a third party twitter account which is in no way related to WhatsApp has posted images which seems like a PC version of the messenger app.

The existing version of WhatsApp Web is merely an extension of the application for replicating the mobile content on a desktop, utilizing mobile data. Beside the fact that the browser always has to be open to receive messages, this makes it even more inconvenient. The new application is believed to overcome all these issues, making it  a completly packaged instant messaging application.

While this gossip would be making the rounds in all social networking sites for a while, Facebook remains tight lipped about these supposed leaked information. They have neither confirmed nor objected to the rumors, which only increases the suspense meter by a huge margin.

Apart from the desktop app, the mobile app is set to feature video calling and group invites as a part of its new update. The video calling feature would come as a major competition to applications and messengers which solely focus on providing the facility to its users.

With the 256-bit encryption, which was a recent update for the messenger hitting huge controversies in the country, it remains to be seen how WhatsApp will make its projects a success in the country whilst appeasing the agitators and resolving the controversies once and for all.
