Samsung has taken a leap of faith in this field boasting about its 60GHz Wi-Fi technology, a 5-fold increase from 866Mbps, or 108MB per second, the maximum speed possible with existing consumer electronics devices that will offer data speeds of up to 4.6Gbps, or 575 MB per second.

Kim Chang Yong, Head of DMC R&D Center of Samsung Electronics, made a statement “Samsung has successfully overcome the barriers to the commercialization of 60GHz millimeter-wave band Wi-Fi technology, and looks forward to commercializing this breakthrough technology,” reports Samsung Electronics official blog.

Samsung explained the momentum gained as a 1 GB movie will get transferred between the devices in a mere 3 seconds. Now that’s a catch!
