BANGALORE: Google announced Vaidehi Reddy as a winner for the sixth edition of the “Doodle4Google” contest. This class IX student of Army Public School, Pune, Vaidehi’s winning doodle would go live on the Google India homepage on Children's Day, Nov 14,.

The Doodle4Google competition was launched in 2009 and is open to students from classes 1 to 10. They are invited to design the Google Doodle to celebrate Children's Day in the country

Doodle4Google competition was started in 2009 and is open to students from class 1 to 10, divided into 3 groups based on class. Vaidehi Reddy belongs to the 3^rd group in the class of 7-10.

The theme for this year’s competition was ‘A place in India I wish to visit’, which witnessed over 1 million entries, from more than 1700 hundred schools across 50 cities in India. "Doodle4Google is the perfect platform for the youth of India to showcase their talent on an international platform. It allows youngsters from not only the metros but from Tier II, III and even IV cities to participate and that is evident from the entries seen this year," said Rajan Anandan, vice president and managing director, Google India. 

Vaidehi Reddy was chosen winner from among the 12 finalists on the basis of artistic merit, creativity and the theme communication, for her entry on ‘Natural and Cultural Paradise-Assam’, she will receive medals from Google, a chrome book laptop, a 3 night-4 day trip with her parents to the place in Assam, India, she has doodled.
