BENGALURU: Hailing a cab in the city is in itself a torment and upon that to browse through information related to cabs of different companies is still more torturous. Finding a cab that is in your vicinity is difficult at times and so to help the needy, the Loco Cabs App launched by Shalak and Neha, which shows the cabs nearby you, according to indiatimes.com.

Thanks to a new aggregator app, where different app-based taxi apps such as Uber, Ola and TaxiForSure will all be available together. Loco Cabs, an app which collates data on cabs in the vicinity was launched in April this year by Shalak Naik and Neha Bora. The Loco Cabs app has tied up with Paytm and CCavenue to facilitate payment and is in talks with Meru and Mega Cabs as well. Apart from cabs, they are also planning to add bus service.

With this technology, millions of users in over a 100 cities would be benefitted. While there are other similar aggregator apps, Loco hopes to grab a larger share of the pie by staying focused and digging deeper into the urban transportation segment which is booming especially in the cities. On the other hand-Niki, a personal assistant app that allows users to book cabs and pay bills, are among the others.

Loco also works as an aggregator for small-time travel companies and cab owners making intercity and overnight trips. This is a largely unorganized market, with airport trips and half-day rentals a huge sub-segment. Loco has given these operators a dashboard where they can put in their inventory and rates and Loco gets a commission from them on the rides booked.
