Microsoft To Launch Its New Fleet Of 4g Smartphones


sdBENGALURU: After Xiaomi, Micromax and Huawei, Microsoft is working on 4G Smartphone’s that will be soon realized this year end. Microsoft is banking on Windows 10-based devices to make a mark in the highly competitive mobile market where it is rapidly losing ground, according to economictimes.com.

Microsoft, by the end of this year,  will roll out its latest Windows 10 operating Smartphone alongside with its 4G variant Handsets which are currently being developed. For now, Microsoft has only one dual-band 4G Smartphone which is Lumia 638. Currently Microsoft has only one band of 4G- FDDLTE on 1800 Mhz, which is supported by Airtel 4G sim in some circles.

The company also claims that, it not only concentrating on its 4G handsets, but also its main focus is on its latest Windows 10 OS, which is also bundled with some new features from Microsoft and its supported applications. Microsoft also claims that all of their future 4G devices will support all types of 4G services in India. The company is also preparing to bring some new devices to the market by this Diwali.

Some rivals to Microsoft such as Xiaomi and Lenovo have already taken up a big chunk of the fast growing 4G Smartphone segment which for Microsoft will take some times to lessen that gap by a considerable margin. Also, the upcoming Smartphone’s will support both existing 4G bands TDD using 2300 Mhz and FDD, which will be used by Airtel and Reliance Jio Infocomm.

Microsoft will soon introduce its fastest growing segment for Microsoft Mobile Devices with Windows 10 OS, which comes with security and management elements. The brand would be able to better serve the needs of customers in the enterprise space than the rest of the lot.
