# Robert Kalin- Etsy
Etsy is an e-commerce website that focuses on offering handmade or vintage items and supplies that was launched in June 18, 2005. In March 2010, Robert Kalin, the man behind the website expressed his idea of going public but had to wait for another year.
But by the time Etsy filed for an IPO, Kalin was nowhere to be found in the company’s tales document about the online craft marketplace. He was unceremoniously pushed out of his own idea-made company in 2011.
