MIMS Announces Launch Of 'da Vinci Robotic Surgical System'


KOZHIKODE: The city based Aster Malabar Institute of Medical Science (MIMS) today announced the launch of the latest 'da Vinci Robotic Surgical System', tha allows minimally invasive surgery which will benefit to patients. 

The system would be used across Urology, Gynaecology, Oncology, Gastrointestinal Surgery and Paediatric Surgery, a MIMS release said.

The system allows the surgeons to perform complex procedures with more precision, flexibility and control than possible with conventional techniques. 

The benefits to the patient includeless invasive procedures with fewer complications, less pain with minimal blood loss, smaller, less noticeable scars, and quicker healing and recovery, a release from MIMS said. 

The state-of-the-art system allows the surgeon to use tiny robotic tools through a much smaller incision. Visual enhancementslike infra-red imaging give better visualisation, precision and control to the surgeon.
