LG Gets In The Ring With Apple, Launches All Metal Smartwatch

BANGALORE: LG is one amongst the finest pioneers to venture out into a whole new ballgame of smart watches. The Smartphone makers that crafted the Android Wearer bands namely G Watch and G Watch R are amid the topnotch wearables in the market, reports Tech Crunch

ALL METAL WATCHES While Apple gears up to enter the market, LG solitarily continues to enjoy the spotlight. The Android Smartphone makers recently announced the arrival of its latest edition of its first ever all-metal smart-watch, the LG Watch Urbane.

Unlike its previous collection that was tuned largely to the geeky male audience, the fresh new edition will emanate a classic timepiece exterior with a unisex appeal. Watch Urbane will feature in gold and silver, in which owners are given the choice to opt for a leather band strap or a regular 22mm-wide band strap.

The Korean company will retain the G Watch R features of 1.3-inch, circular plastic OLED face and the device is said to run on Android Wear with the chipset that accommodates a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip.

“The LG Watch Urbane’s classic design and smart features make it the perfect smartwatch to complement our G Watch and G Watch R, which were designed as more casual and active devices,” stated Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Mobile.

The company’s decision to shift the focus to a non-geek audience arrives a few weeks before the entrance of   the Apple Watch. LG is a set to boast its latest addition at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
