E-Tailers Battling It Out With Seller Apps


BANGALORE: This is the information technology era where online shopping is going viral. There are so many websites which took the initiative to set the trend of online shopping. These websites have been warmly welcomed by the urban as well as the rural society. These sites provide world class brands over 20,000 styles and so many varieties of products. From tooth pastes to electronic devices one can order anything sitting at any part of the country.

After success, these websites moved on to apps which made them more users friendly. This idea paid off for them. These apps got billions of users all over the world. Flipkart, Myntra, Amazon, Jabong, E-bay are some of the examples. These apps are in a competition to sell more products to more customers. Thus they do app sales which provide really good deals for common man.

The apps are improving its features so that it can reach out to more population. Myntra made it as all app for the customers. It is working on its seller app to develop features which would also provide analytics to the sellers on its platform to manage their inventory. Flipkart introduced its seller app in earlier in June 2015. These seller apps help the buyers and sellers to save more time.

The paytm app has introduced negotiate feature in their seller app where buyers and sellers can negotiate in their price. Almost 30 percent of the seller base is already using this app. By using such apps customers can save their time and money. Some of these provide gift services too so sending a gift to your loved ones is no more complicated.

"As marketplaces go all out to add even small sellers and handicraft makers on their platform, creating a seller app is an efficient way of reaching these sellers who do not own a PC or laptop but have access to smartphones," said Vishal Tripathi, research director at Gartner reports TOI.
