Clash of Dongles: Amazon Fire TV Stick vs Google Chromecast
BANGALORE: The new Amazon Fire TV Stick has entered European market and we can expect it in Indian market very soon. Fire TV Stick was introduced in last quarter of 2014, the online retailers - Amazon will sell it as well as ship it to your door step. The device resembles its rival the Google Chromecast but with this you get a remote which could provide handy access to the users, reports Pocketlint.
We thought it would be better if we compare these rivals to cut down your effort to choose between Chromecast and Fire TV Stick.
# Hardware
As soon as you lay your eyes on these HDMI dongles, the Fire TV Stick and Chromecast have a similar form factor and directly connect to a HDTV. However, Fire TV comes with a dedicated remote along with the dongle while, Chromecast requires a Smartphone or tablet to control it. Both the dongles are supported by the Android OS.
The Fire TV can even pair with a Bluetooth controllers for gaming. On the other hand, Chromecast doesn’t possess such functionality and it has much smaller processor and storage capacity when compared to Fire TV.
