Capcom's 'Monster Hunter' Video Game is All Set Create Stirs in Hollywood
BENGALURU: Video game enthusiasts across the globe will now have a chance to witness the blockbuster video game ‘Monster Hunter’ in an action movie format. The news was revealed by a senior producer at Capcom’s Japanese publisher. At the Tokyo Game Show, without unveiling any additional information, Ryozo Tsujimoto, Capcom’s producer and son of the company’s CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto also announced the future release of the game in Hollywood. Ryozo only stated that the film was not directly based on the legendary ‘Monster Hunter Stories.’
2016 has been a year packed up with some of the best video game adaptations in cinema. ‘Warcraft’, a fabled video game bagged a massive $430m returns in the global box office. Similarly, ‘The Angry Birds Movie’ also earned a decent $350m. Starring Michael Fassbender, cinematic version the legendary game ‘Assassin's Creed’ is expected to be released by the month of December. Furthermore, Capcom’s British director Paul WS Anderson plans to release six adaptations of the famous survival horror series ‘Resident Evil’ in the near future.
With an exceptional level of creativity, Capcom’s Japanese director Takashi Miike appreciates working with the cinematic version of ‘Monster Hunter’. Considering the track record, Takashi has successfully directed the cinematic variant of the visual novel adventure ‘Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.’ Featuring a thrilling zombie apocalypse, two films of ‘Dead Rising’ has also been the recent release by Capcom which was produced by the Legendary Pictures. But, the company introduced the two films through the Crackle channel; diverging from the cinematic trend. Owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment, Crackle is a distributor of TV shows, web shows, and Hollywood movies.
With all the gossips and rumors flying around, one can’t ignore the possibility of Capcom relying on Crackle to introduce its upcoming Hollywood flick, the ‘Monster Hunter’.
