HTTPS is a protocol that uses encryption techniques and it makes the website much more secure than the usual HTTP. However, always cross check the URLs before sharing your credit card/card information. Sites with https:// (means that it’s encrypted and safe) and a padlock icon in the URL field can be trusted. Along with this, be wary of the websites that have misspellings or bad grammar in their addresses as these can be the competitor sites of the original sites to hack the data.
