BENGALURU: Google unveiled its new mobile operating system at its annual developer’s conference, Google I/O 2015. However, the company did not mentioned, what “M” stands for in “Android M”. Dark and Light Theme

Android will finally allow its users to choose between a light theme and a dark one. While the new theme settings may change the color of menu screen, however, it is not confirmed if other third party applications will also be affected by this new feature.

Use Doze on a per app basis

The battery performance in Android Smartphones did not allow it to last multiple days. To sort that out, Google is taking this issue seriously and launched “Doze” to radically improve the phone’s battery. It puts the phone in an extreme battery saving mode, improving the battery backup by up to 50 percent.

New RAM Manager

Smartphones have abundant RAM but, that doesn’t mean proper utilization of huge RAM size is not important. Google is serious with how computing happens inside the device and it introduced a new RAM manager, making the device to perform faster and smoother.

Do Not Disturb Mode

The new DND mode introduces some new features in the Android OS. The DND mode was first introduced in Android L, but Google has introduced even more features in the DND mode for Android M. New features include automatic rules, and enabling the DND mode by volume buttons.

Turn off Heads Up Notifications

Notification system in Android OS is an important and integral part, which plays a crucial role in being the user more productive. Google has introduced new feature that allows the user to turn off the notification on per app basis, without affecting other applications.
