4 Online Scams Indians Should Not Fall For

1. Phishing Email Scams

As per RSA cyber security, a US-based organization stated that phishing recorded a 29 percent of all time online scams in the first quarter of 2019 and India is second on the list. Phishing is the process of stealing a user’s personal information like usernames, passwords, bank details, Aadhar and more.

Over one third of all security incidents start with phishing emails or by the malicious attachments sent to company employees. These emails will seem to come from an official source (like banking institutions or any other financial authority, legitimate companies or other social networks), using tricks such as creating a sense of urgency to make users click the link within a short time. Cyber criminals use these details to breach into your bank account or sell them on dark web to others.
