2016's Top 10 Strategic Tech Trends
BENGALURU: Every year Gartner Symposium manages to sum up a list of the top technology trends for the year to come. Newer technologies such as smart devices, IoT, software-defined everything and 3D printing are also making headway in their mainstream adoption, according to itbusinessedge.com.
The Device Mesh:
The device mesh refers to an expanding set of endpoints people use to access applications and information or interact with people, social communities, governments and businesses. In the next three years, the traditional computing and communication devices, including desktop and mobile devices will increasingly be augmented by wearable devices, home electronics including appliances with sensors, transportation-based sensors and data collection devices and environmental devices all capable of capturing data in real-time.
Ambient User Experience:
These devices and sensors have an ability to gather more contextual data. The challenge will be with application design, anticipating this level of device synchronicity and collaboration, for lack of better framing. Gartner posits that the devices and sensors will become so smart that they will be able to organize our lives without us even noticing that they are doing so.
