6. Birthday and event reminders:  We would want chat messengers to please steal this feature from ICQ and Facebook.

7. Video Calling: Currently, we use different apps for different purposes, that is, WhatsApp for instant messaging, Snapchat for encrypted picture sharing, and Skype for video calling. The next logical step is to get video calling feature on the IM apps.
