Xiaomi In Plans To Build Its Own Processors By 2016, MIUI7 on August 13


BANGALORE: Xiaomi is taking another step forward in to the future to establish its Smartphone base on a whole. Previously we saw the Chinese Smartphone maker announcing a patent for its finger print sensor technology, now Xiaomi is back again to join the league with companies that manufacture their own mobile processors, reports Tech2.

Currently Xiaomi has its devices running on Qualcomm chipsets and the company’s upcoming Smartphone Mi5 will most likely sport the Snapdragon 820 of the same franchise.

Xiaomi probably will instill its processors in its Smartphone from 2016 and the first ones to get it will be the low-end Redmi series. The company has also acquired full range of ARM core licenses and to solidify the rumors as to the making one’s own processors, Xiaomi has roped in Qualcomm’s China Head Wang Xiang to boost the process.

Huawei, Samsung and Apple till now are the companies that made their own processors and soon Xiaomi will be one of them.

Coming to the present endeavors of Xiaomi, the company has planned an event on August 13. The stage will see the unveiling of MIUI 7 and along with that its latest flagship Mi5 is expected to be revealed, the event will take place at the China National Convention Center.
