Microsoft Fingerprint Reader was a device that was sold by Microsoft primarily targeted at home and small business users which has been discontinued. With or without fingerprint readers, the new password-replacing credentials are coming - not just from Microsoft but from fellow FIDO Alliance members like Google.

According to Chris Hallum, who manages the security features in Windows and Windows Phone, “We're going to get the cost down to where it can go mainstream. We have an OEM signaling - not committing but signaling - that they may put it across their entire consumer range. Although I hope I don't get burned again because I talked about this for Windows 8,” reports Techradar.

3. Flexibility First

Windows 10's user interface is designed to tailor itself to the type of device and available inputs, providing “the right experience on the right device at the right time.” For non-touch devices, a variation of the previous Start menu is used as part of the desktop interface, featuring a traditional application list and search box on the left side, with Start screen live tiles on the right. A new virtual desktop system known as Task View was also added.

The system will allow mainstream computers to receive frequent modifications to the operating system, while enterprise administrators can opt out of them to ensure a stable, controlled environment.
