Alibaba has investments in many of the leading firms in China. In 2013, the company bought an 18 percent stake in Sina Weibo, the ChineseTwitter for an estimated 586 Mn US Dollars. It also has significant shares in Youku Tudou (Chinese version of YouTube), Lyft, Snapchat and smartphone maker Meizu. Reports suggest that Alibaba is setting up its own cloud computing business, with many data centres built in US and around the world.
