Mobile Banking Apps: A Boon Or Curse?

2.  Same Old Password

Here is another way of securing your account access in a more rigid way. Always use a combination of random letters and numbers as words, names and phrases.

These are what cracking program checks for. One way would be to remember a familiar sentence and use the first letter of each word to form the password. Try using a sentence that can have a number in between them.

3. Opened Browser Page

Never leave your browser open even when you have closed the application because browsers always save pages that you have viewed on your computer or in your mobile. Always remember to clear cache after visiting your net banking account. By doing so, you can make sure no one else can view your confidential information of your account. Also, don't select the option on the browser that stores and retains your user name and password, i.e. auto complete.

4. Vulnerability from SMS’s

SMS spams are a big part of mobile vulnerability these days. Spam messages are common such as Lottery wins and free cruise passes to exotic places. If you click on these you would be vulnerable to malwares which would become an advantage point for hackers to directly access your account information. Never click on free ads that flash on your mobile screens while using mobile banking app.

5. Third party mobile banking application

Here the mobile banking application itself may be vulnerable to your private account information. This happens because you would have downloaded the mobile banking app from a third party app which has very few algorithms which it help it to secure itself from malwares and viruses. Always download mobile secutrity apps which are of genuine stores in any operating system.
