Xioami In India: Rides on Buyers Demands


BANGALORE: The success that Xioami witnessed through the sale of their Mi3 product smartphone has emboldened them to expand their market, especially here in India. The demand scales that Indians have shown for Xioami product and for the other products that are slowly being launched is incredible. As the company has already released their statement that they will be opening an R&D center in Bangalore, this will be a new horizon for the growth and popularity of Xioami.

Hugo Barra, the vice president of international operations at Xioami in an interaction with Economic Times revealed some of the plans that the company has in India. He spoke about their interest to invest in Indian Startup companies and also praised the works of the Bhansals and Naveen Tiwari. Replying to some of the questions posed at him about the technological companies in India, Hugo Barra stressed on how the internet growth in India is and will be faster than it is in China. Furthermore he expressed his extreme delight in being able to witness the flourishing of the technological ecosystem in India.

When questioned about the Hurdles that Xioami may face, Hugo Barra went on talk about the normal challenges faced by any business organization with respect to understanding the business strategy and ways of attracting customers. Having said this he expressed his awe of India’s brand consciousness and also the huge demand that they always have, which they hope to target and by which win the India customers over.

With regards to futuristic plans and other operation centers around the world, Barra shed light on the fact that they are opening another office in Brazil and with regards to the Indian market; Xiaomi plans to launch products that will hit India before the rest of the world. So this new journey will be one to watch as Xiaomi follows Alibaba, the other Chinese company, in to the Indian Market.
