Xiaomi and Huawei Top This Quarters Smartphone Makers

BENGALURU: Smartphone’s now a days are getting smarter and the companies which make them are also keeping some good competition between them. Chinese Smartphone makers Xiaomi and Huawei have pushed US technology giant Apple into third place in this second quarter, according to ET.

US technology giant Apple had taken top spot in the first three months of 2015 but it has plunged down to the 3rd place despite its launch of its large-screen iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus. This type of immense competition among major brands has never been seen. Xiaomi which has been a maker of top end smartfones at a cheaper prize is under immense pressure to maintain its top position in the quarters to come.

In china, Apple's iPhone sales surged 85 percent earlier which included Hong Kong and Taiwan with revenue of more than $13 billion for the latest quarter. Huawei’s global Smartphone shipments surged 48.2 million as it focused on only mid to high end models. Though being different than each other, Xiaomi and Huawei are in a headlock to prove themselves in the Smartphone industry.

Apple’s fall to the 3rd place this quarter can be examined as it only aims at a specific group of customers who are looking only for performance and premium quality but Xiaomi and Huawei concentrate on each and every customer and try to merge performance, quality and looks in a cheaper way.
