WhatsApp Adds More Features to its Quiver

BENGALURU: WhatsApp has recently added a lot of features including end-to-end encryption across messages and file sharing features. The Silicon Valley giant, Facebook is reportedly working on giving a big boost to WhatsApp by bringing new features for Android and iOS users. Phone Radar has reported that callback, voicemail and zip file features will come to the instant messaging app in the next update. The app is one step closer to replacing the phone function on your mobile.

Voice calls are already available across the WhatsApp app, but the rumored new feature will let you record a voicemail message if your contact doesn't pick up. The company could be baking in more features with the app soon. Unlike traditional voice mail apps, users will be able to record the message and listen back before sending it. A missed call notification will now appear on the screen of handset and the user will be allowed to call back without opening the app.

On the same lines, WhatsApp is also planning to bring ZIP sharing with the upcoming update, with which users can compress the actual file, which will in turn help them decrease their data usage as well. The instant messaging app currently supports PDF, VCF, DOCX and DOCS. While it's not known when the features will go commercial, we expect WhatsApp to publicize these new additions soon. Don't be surprised if it takes longer, though.

It has been reported that, Facebook recently introduced group calling feature to its messenger app. It comes with a ceiling of 50 members and allows users to make voice call. There are also reports revealing that the social media giant will bring group video call feature soon.
