What Digital Changes IT Companies will Examine in 2017 and After

Daryl Plummer, Managing Vice President, Research Chief, Gartner, said that the predictions are based on what technical evolution might bloom in the IT sector.

Gartner predicted that by 2020, about 100Mn will go to the Augment Reality (AR) applications. The rise of Pokémon GO brings AR into the mainstream and now many retailers are trying to include it to enhance the shopping experience. AR will blur the lines between physical and digital world. Another assumption is that by 2020, about 30 percent browsing sessions will be performed with the help of voice-first interactions instead of the screen.

By 2019, 20 percent of the companies will turn back on mobile applications because many brands found that ROI, customer engagement, and adoption by mobile apps are less than as expected. Some new approaches will emerge to provide the new level of customer engagement. A new Blockchain technology will revolutionize the transaction recording and by 2022, blockchain-based business will increase to the worth over $10 Bn. Blockchain applications will enable the transaction within minutes instead of day and accelerate business processes by freeing up the cash and reducing transaction costs.

Internet of Things (IoT) has the potential of enormous data generation and by 2020, it will increase data storage demand up to three percent. IoT promises to reduce the maintenance cost and it is estimated that by 2022, IoT will assist firms in saving $1Tr every year. Another prediction is that by 2020, 40 percent of the employees will reduce the healthcare cost up to 40 percent with the help of a wearable fitness tracker.
