Uber Added Two New Features to Make Ride Easier in India


BENGALURU: US-based ride-hailing firm Uber has announced two more new features in India to make the customers book a ride easier than before.

The two new features include: “Request a Ride for Others” and “Dial an Uber.” “Dial an Uber” is currently limited to few cities in India. It is available in Kochi, Guwahati, Jodhpur, and Nagpur. While “Request a Ride for Others,” feature is available across the country. Both features are enabled to construct it easier for the riders, users, and their friends and relatives to get around, even if they don’t have the official Uber app or Smartphone.

The new features can be processed via website of the Uber cab. The rides are available from cheapest ride cost UberGo to premium rides of Uber. Rather than downloading the applications for smartphones, users can logon to https://dial.uber.com/login to book their rides for them around the current available cities. “Dial an Uber” feature will be handy for the users who are not regularly using the service. Once the pickup location and destination points are added to the input box, estimate of the ride with fare details will be displayed and users can plan accordingly.

“Request a Ride for Others” feature is an app enabled feature. If the ride is for someone else other than you, the phone number of the rider will be required. Users can login from their registered account and book a ride for someone else across the country. This feature will greatly help a person where he wants to book a ride for his family or relatives who don’t have an Uber app or smartphone or internet access. The payments can be made online by the member who booked the ride or it can be directly to the driver by the rider at the end of the ride.

After booking, the rider will receive two text messages, one with car and driver’s information and the other with a web link to track the ride, which can be shared to track on it.
