BENGALURU: Microsoft Research is a 25 years old facility that acts as the strong arm for the development of the Microsoft Company. This facility focuses on the future possibilities rather than the current happenings, compiles Business Insider.

The research facility was created by Bill Gates to help create "a new Golden Age of technological advancement," according to Peter Lee, Microsoft Research's Corporate Vice President. The projects that come from the research facility are either academic that concentrates on advance science or the production of real-life products for consumer use like Kinect etcetera. And these researchers have put forth some predictions that everyone should know.

New Silicon Architectures - Faster Computers

Introduction of new Silicon architectures that are used in processors will enable them become faster and more efficient by 2016 and in the upcoming year we would also see the introduction of new depth camera technology on smart phones.

The Cloud computing architecture will become faster and more powerful in 2016. This betterment in Cloud computing results in smart handling of big data loads, bioinformatics and more. The reconfigurable computers will go main-stream in the data center world.
