Technologies That Were Huge Flops In 2014


BANGALORE: Innovation and invention cannot be stopped since they are the lifeline of technological companies. Not all inventions or innovations come out as planned and certainly do not always have the best impact on the society. For some companies failure to click with new technologies in the market can mean a huge blow to their revenue whereas for other companies it is only a sign to perfect that particular invention. So here is a list of some of the biggest tech failures of 2014 as compiled by Business Insider.

Microsoft’s fitness Band:

Microsoft has had a rather rough year with the release of new products. And many of their products did not click well in the market. One such product was their fitness tracking gadget which didn’t do so well because of the quiet release and secondly it didn’t have much features that were attractive. The band was also reviewed to be uncomfortable to wear.

Rupert Murdoch’s stint:

One of the biggest media house owners from Australia, Rupert Murdoch left that world at shock when he offered to buy Time Warner for a whooping sum of $80 billion. This was a move no one expected but what followed left him a laughing stock. He later scrapped the plan without reasons and hasn’t turned back on the deal ever since.
