Siemon Unveils Advanced Fibre Termination System In India

NEW DELHI: Global network infrastructure company Siemon on Friday launched “LightBow” fibre termination system in the Indian market to improve fibre termination speed, performance and reliability while reducing costs.

Fiber cable termination is the addition of connectors to each optical fibre in a cable. The fibres need to have connectors fitted before they can attach to other equipments.

The new Siemon system features a termination tool and pre-polished mechanical “splice connectors” that together reduce termination time, prevent fibre end face contamination and air gaps, and enable easy verification of termination quality.

“Fast deployment and superior reliability are of the utmost importance in today’s fibre networks and fibre field terminations remain popular due to their ability to meet a variety of installation scenarios,” said Prem Rodrigues, Director, Sales and Marketing, Middle East, India and SAARC, Siemon, in a statement.

Ergonomically optimised for use in handheld or table-top orientation, the new “LightBow” termination tool significantly reduces termination time, the company said.
