Shoot Cinema-Quality 4K Videos With New Canon EOS Camera


NEW DELHI: Japanese imaging products company Canon on Friday launched EOS 5D Mark IV camera that offers professional photographers and filmmakers a stellar, full-frame performance and the speed to capture great shots in both still and video formats.

With the EOS 5D Mark IV, users can shoot 4K movies at a frame rate of 30p, with resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 and an aspect ratio of 17:9 that matches cinema screens.

"With every new product in the Canon EOS 5D range, we create a differentiation in the industry. The EOS 5D Mark IV is truly the most versatile EOS ever -- set to revolutionise photography in India," Kazutada Kobayashi, President and CEO, Canon India, told reporters here.

The EOS 5D Mark IV (body only) comes at Rs 2,54,995 and will be available in the market starting September 8.

The camera will come with two L series kit lenses.

With the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM lens, EOS 5D Mark IV is priced at Rs 3,24,995 and with EF 24-70 mm f/4L IS USM, it costs Rs 3,06,995.

The 24-70 mm lens will be available starting September 8 while 24-105 mm lens will be available in October.

The camera is equipped with a powerful 30.4MP full-frame, high-sensitivity sensor, 150,000 pixels RGB+IR metering sensor, Dual Pixel CMOS AF with 61 AF points for rapid focusing speed and can capture high-speed continuous shooting at seven frames per second (fps).

The device is powered by a DIGIC 6+ image processor and an enhanced noise processing algorithm suited for shooting in low-light scenes.

New features such as support for Dual Pixel Raw (DPRAW) format and 4K frame-grabs will empower photographers with greater control when capturing shots.

The enhanced sensitivity (ISO speed of 100 to 32000, expandable to 102400) also ensures superior image quality even when shooting at high ISO speeds, the company said in a statement.

The EOS 5D Mark IV also comes with an in-built Wi-Fi, GPS and Near Field Communications (NFC) capabilities.
