Pre-registration Coming For Android Games And Apps on Play store

BENGALURU: The concept of Pre-Registration has taken over the entire online consumer market by surprise. Google has launched pre-registration for Android applications and games. Pre-registration requires no additional fees in Google Play Store, reports FirstPost.

When a user pre-registers for any application or game in the play store, it will enable him to receive notifications regarding the launch of that specific application for which the user registered for. This trend can already be seen in the launch of several Smartphones on Amazon and Flipkart.

However, in Android gaming segment, the first game to enable pre-registration feature is Terminator Genisys: Revolution. The game’s description reads “The year is 2028 and humanity is on the brink of extinction. Help John Connor in the war to save the human race in the official game of the new movie Terminator Genisys. Escape from the Skynet prison camp and fight the machines in this action-packed sci-fi shooter!”

The process of pre-registration is expected to have certain effect on the sales of the application as it will create more hype. The pre-registration can be done with just one tab, but if the user changes his mind, then un-registration can also be done with just one tap on the un-register button.
