Players Capture Pokemon on Streets with 'Pokemon Go'

BENGALURU: If you remember your childhood then you might know this cartoon series ‘Pokemon’. Yes the Pokemons— Charmander, Bulbasaur, Squirtle and many more along with their adventurous journey through various leagues. Today, Niantic Labs, a software development company which was spun out of Google developed a location based augmented reality mobile game for Android and iOS—Pokemon Go. This game has seen millions of downloads, topping the official online shop list.

Pokemon Go uses map so that players can find PokeStops, Gyms, and the location of the nearby Pokemon. PokeStops are usually located at fascinating locations like historical monuments and public art installations. Blue squares are used to indicate PokeStops in the map where players can collect more Pokeball and items. While capturing a Pokemon, note that the type of Pokemon will depend upon the habitat of the search; for instance, when you are near a beach you may find a water-type Pokemon.

Pokemons are caught by hitting the virtual cartoon with virtual balls tossed across touch screen. After you capture a Pokemon you can level up by earning experience points. And when you feel that you are ready to fight then search for a nearby gym from the map and earn medals by winning the competition. Also you can get an evolved Pokemon but it is very hard to find, so the other way is to collect same species often and chances are there that one of them might evolve.

When Pokemon Go was released in the US, Australia, and New Zealand John Hanke, CEO, Niantic expressed that they have helped users around the world to have fun, socialize and get fit as they play and explore.
