Microsoft Cortana Coming to Android And iOS


BENGALURU: Microsoft has gained momentum after appointing the new CEO, Satya Nadella. Under his leadership, Microsoft is constantly working on providing a seamless experience across all categories of devices such as, Smartphones, Tablets, and Computers. Now, the most awaited digital assistant, Cortana, is confirmed to be available on iOS and Android operating system, reports ReadWrite.

Microsoft launched its Office Suit for Android and from that point onwards; the company is continuing with its decision of unveiling products on both, Android and iOS platforms. Microsoft’s Cortana is facing difficult competition from Google Now and Apple’s Siri. According to the company, Cortana will offer ubiquitous access across broad range of devices and Cortanawill be made available on Android and iOS helping Microsoft  grow its user base.

No official release date has been confirmed so far by the company but the speculation is that Microsoft will launch Cortana for iOS as well as Android later this year. The company is trying several strategies to increase its user base since last year, when it launched a developer preview of the upcoming Windows 10. However, there is a slight chance that the strategy may backfire and divert the users away from Windows platform instead of alluring them to it.
