Google to Launch Soon: Chromecast 2 Along with Chromecast Audio
BENGALURU: Google is long past the stage of introduction on what it is and what it does.. What you need to know is that Google is launching Chromecast 2 with Chromecast Audio, the latest version of Chromecast which was earlier introduced in 2014. Google has priced both the devices at Rs 3399 and are available on Flipkart, Snapdeal, Paytm, Reliance Digital and Croma Retail.
The new Google Chromecast 2 is easy to connect with smartphones, tablets and PCs to stream the TV content online. Distinct from Apple TV, it focuses on copyright issues and connects officially only to beaming content available on the server instead of streaming local TV content. Chromecast is also compatible with iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Mac or Windows laptops and Chromebooks.
Chromecast Audio initially supports android smartphones for music streaming on any speaker via Wi-Fi. It works with apps like Saavn and Wynk Music and its multi-room feature allows it to connect with multiple speakers throughout a living space. Both of these devices were out in October 2015 with the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P smartphone but in India it’s launching now.
All latest Wi-Fi technologies are supported by Google Chromecast and this new Chromecast has better Wi-Fi connectivity. Google has also developed its caching technologies to reduce the in-built flash storage requirements. The previous version came with 2GB flash storage but the new one has just 256 MB flash storage.
The launch came with an introductory offer of six months free Saavn Pro and HOOQ subscriptions. With the help of Chromecast, users can mirror their laptop’s Chrome browser as well as their Android smartphone, tablets onto the TV screen, including the apps that are not Cast-Enabled.
