BANGALORE: With the online shopping culture becoming popular in the country, the e-commerce giants Flipkart is making it big in the online market from past a few years. And the company has recently launched a new app named Flipkart Nearby. The App was launched over the Google play store and it was not given so much hype, reports Gadgets360.

The app is a venture to deliver groceries to the selected neighborhoods of Bangalore which includes Kormangala, HSR layout, BTM layout, Ejipura, Jayanagar, JP Nagar and Bellandur. The App has divided groceries and food in to various categories such as branded food, groceries, staples, beverages, breakfast, dairy, and eggs. This gives a supermarket like shopping experience for the consumers.

The service is currently only available on Android; the online portal doesn’t have an online equivalent to of the feature which can be accessed on the browser. The consumers can buy their products during anytime of the day using the Flipkart Nearby app. The delivery is done from 10am to 8pm. Apart from groceries the App also consists personal care products, health and wellness products, baby care products and household supplies.

This kind of venture is not taking place for the first time. In March 2015 Amazon has launched it Kirana, which is also a delivery space. PapperTap, Grofers, BigBasket and Ola stores are other delivery spaces currently active in the country.
