Facebook to Introduce Self-destruct Messages

BENGALURU: If the screenshots shared by a Twitterati IOSAppChange is to be believed, Facebook users may soon be able to send self-destruct messages. The users can decide the duration and visibility of the chats.

"You turned on disappearing messages. New messages will disappear from this conversation 15 minutes after being sent," Messenger says in the chat window, as reported by the Times of India. The IOS users are likely to witness the disappearing messages feature in Facebook Messenger v68.0.

Working along the lines of WhatsApp’s recent end-to-end encrypted messages, Facebook is also said to be planning to work on “secret conversation” feature. This is the second Snapchat-like feature that Facebook is working on.

In addition, Facebook is developing a stand-alone camera app to increase the number of users, according to a recent report by Wall Street Journal. However, the app is in its early stages of development and it is being created by Facebook’s “friend-sharing” team in London.

The company is also keen on adding a feature that could enable users utilize app for video recording to start live streamlining, says the report.
