Drones To Now Aid Indian Farmers For Productive Results


BENGALURU: Drones or Unnamed Aerial Vehicles are aircrafts either controlled by a pre programmed mission or by pilots from the ground. Indian farmers will soon use these aerial vehicles and make them fly over their agricultural fields. Drones can be used to survey crops and map common diseases, thereby assisting insurance companies to settle crops-related claims.

The use of drones has seen a gradual increasing in recent years since its introduction. Now, it is making its way into agriculture as well. According to a report by The Times Of India, the drone technology has been used in many developed countries for different agriculture purposes and it proved fruitful for farmers all over.

This device will record images continuously during flight with its internal camera in four  spectral bands.. Not this, Drones would enable collections of key information on the cultivated fields. An additional sensor is installed, which will help to measure the incident radiations and keep track of the spectral reflectance. This will let the farmers to help identify different characteristics of the crops.

Gujarat government used the technology in various agricultural fields in its districts last year and it proved to be successful. Drones will become valuable allies for farmers to optimize management of their inputs towards their crops in future soon.
